AVIATION/ QUESTIONS OVER WHY MANX2 FL7100 DIDN'T DIVERT

Survivors of the MANX2 commuter jet crash last Thursday in Cork, Ireland, have demanded to know why the young Spanish Captain didn’t divert the doomed flight. The 31 year old Captained a flight for the 1st time last Thursay time when his Swearingen SW226 Mainliner crashed in heavy fog on a 3rd attempted landing in Cork. The Captain and Co-Pilot, along with 4 of the 10 passengers onboard, died in the crash. According to media reports today, some of the 6 survivors are now asking why the inexperienced Pilot didn’t divert after the 1st 2 failed landing attempts. Sources have claimed that Captain was offered the chance to divert to Waterford Regional Airport but declined. He went for a 3rd landing attempt when the Fairchild Metroliner plane did get down, but the right wing of Flight 7100 clipped the runway and turned the plane upside down before it caught fire after skidding along the runway. A preliminary Report into the accident will be published in 4 to 6 weeks. The brother of 1 of the survivors  has revealed that she has already asked air accident investigators why Captain Lopez didn’t divert the flight after the 2nd failed landing as is normal with most commercial aircraft. The father of a 2nd survivor said the flight crew appeared determined to get the plane on the ground at Cork Airport. The Irish AAIU, which is investigating, had no comment.
