FILM/ "LOVE AND OTHER DRUGS" POSTER OUT: Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal wear nothing but pillows in the newly released poster for their upcoming movie "Love and Other Drugs". The synopsis of the film, out November 24, is: Maggie (Hathaway) is an alluring free spirit who won't let anyone - or anything - tie her down. But she meets her match in Jamie (Gyllenhaal), whose relentless and nearly infallible charm serve him well with the ladies and in the cutthroat world of pharmaceutical sales. Maggie and Jamie's evolving relationship takes them both by surprise, as they find themselves under the influence of the ultimate drug: love. Based on Jamie Reidy's memoir "Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman."

FILM/ BARON COHEN TO PLAY FREDDIE MERCURY: "Borat" star Sacha Baron Cohen is to play Freddie Mercury in a film about Queen, the rock band's guitarist Brian May has confirmed to the BBC. "We have Sacha Baron Cohen, which will probably be a shock to a lot of people, but he's been talking with us for a long time," May said. "Frost/Nixon" writer Peter Morgan is writing the screenplay, he added. The film, which will focus on the period leading up to Live Aid in 1985, will begin shooting next year. May and Queen drummer Roger Taylor will oversee music featured in the film, which will include songs by the band and by Mercury as a solo performer. Queen's 21-minute appearance at the Live Aid concert at Wembley Stadium featured "Bohemian Rhapsody," "We Are The Champions" and "Radio Ga Ga". It is considered to be one of the classic rock performances. Mercury, pictured at Live Aid, died of AIDS in 1991.

MUSIC/ Q NOMS ANNOUNCED: British rapper Plan B and Canadian band Arcade Fire are leading the way at this year's Q Awards with 3 nominations each. Both acts are up for best album, with Plan B also nominated for best male and breakthrough act. Arcade Fire will compete for best act in the world today and best video at the awards in October. Mercury winners The xx are among the acts with 2 nods, joining Florence And The Machine, Kasabian and Gorillaz. Mumford & Sons, Muse, Gorillaz, Ellie Goulding and Biffy Clyro are all also up for a pair of awards.The best album category also features "Plastic Beach" by Gorillaz, Paul Weller's "Wake Up The Nation" and The National's "High Violet". Lady Gaga, who won the award for best video last year, is up for best live act and best female along with Corinne Bailey Rae, Florence And The Machine and Laura Marling. Competing with Arcade Fire for the best act in the world title are Green Day, Kasabian, Kings Of Leon and Muse, who won the award last year. Nominations for a new category, The Next Big Thing, are still to be announced. The awards, which are voted for the public, will be handed out at a ceremony at London's Grosvenor House on October 25.

THEATRE/ "KING KONG" AIMS FOR BROADWAY IN 2013: A musical version of King Kong is headed for Broadway. The Australian production company Global Creatures hopes to bring the musical to the New York stage by 2013. "King Kong – Live on Stage" will feature a score by Marius de Vries (Baz Luhrmann's "Romeo + Juliet") and a book by Craig Lucas ("Prelude to a Kiss"); de Vries will also arrange the period songs featured in the production. The production will boast a cast of more than 40 onstage actors, singers, dancers and puppeteers. The musical has been authorized by the estate of "King Kong" co-director Merian C. Cooper. Global Creatures has come up with a design for a robotic Kong, pictured above, and although an out-of-town tryout is a possibility, New York is the musical's ultimate destination. "It just feels like the most fitting place, for obvious reasons," producers said.

THEATRE/ "PROMISES" TO SHUTTER IN JANUARY: The Tony Award-nominated revival of "Promises, Promises," starring Sean Hayes and Kristin Chenoweth, will close January 2, 2011, at the Broadway Theatre. Hayes and Chenoweth, who were announced to depart the production Dec. 26, have extended their contracts through the end of the run. Original cast members Tony Goldwyn and Dick Latessa, as well as "SNL" favorite Molly Shannon, who will replace Tony winner Katie Finneran in October, will also perform through the closing performance. The musical romp about clandestine office romance will have played 30 previews and 291 regular performances when it closes. Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Rob Ashford staged the production that began March 28, 2011, and officially opened April 25, 2010. "Promises, Promises" earned Tony Award nominations for Best Lead Actor (Hayes), Best Featured Actress (Finneran), Best Choreography (Ashford) and Best Orchestrations (Jonathan Tunick). Finneran took home the honor. Producers state that discussions for a possible tour have begun.
