*AVIANCA Flight 181: The Fokker 100 made an emergency return to Bogota, Colombia, on May 4, 2010, due to problems with the landing gear. The Colombian CAA said that an electrical problem lead to the gear indication. The Colombian CAA requested that the NTSB join the investigation to assist in decoding the FDR. The NTSB reported that the Fokker suffered a hard landing on the return to Bogota, resulting to minor damage to the aircraft.
*BRITISH AIRWAYS Flight 265: The Boeing 767 encountered severe turbulence while on approach to Washington Dulles on August 16, 2010. The NTSB reports that a Flight Attendant suffered serious injuries when she fell in the aft galley.
*SAS Flight 809: The Boeing 737 encountered severe turbulence while on approach to London Heathrow on August 23, 2010. The NTSB reports that a Flight Attendant suffered serious injuries. The UK AAIB opened an investigation and the NTSB has joined the investigation.
*SHANGHAI AIRLINES Flight 809: The Boeing 757 made an emergency return to Shanghai after smoke was observed in the passenger cabin, on August 30, 2010. The NTSB reports that the 757 was hit by lightning, which made 4 small holes near section 43. 1 hole was also found in the dorsal radar antenna. Burn evidence was found on the air distribution duct and insulation blankets inside the aircraft.
*FEDEX Flight 78: The MD11 crossed runway 27L after landing at Paris, France, on September 18, 2010. The actions by Flight 78 led a Boeing 777 to reject takeoff from runway 27L. The French BEA have opened an investigation and the NTSB has joined.
