A photographer captured the moment that a JAPAN AIRLINES Boeing 767 suffered a bird strike. The incident took place today onboard JAL Flight 3302 was on Domestic Service from Sapporo to Kobe, Japan, with 231 passengers and crew onboard. The 767 ingested a bird into its left hand engine as it was on its initial climb out of Sapporo. The engine began to repeatedly surge, thus the crew shut the engine down and declared an emergency. Flight 3302 landed back at Sapporo without incident, about 15 minutes after its original departure. The aircraft was then removed from service for repairs.
