BEHIND THE CHART: The 2010-2011 television season officially ended last Wednesday, and the Wednesday finales of "Modern Family," "Cougar Town" and "American Idol" all made the top 10 this week. The ending of "Idol" was anti-climatic, with the best part of the show being the guest star performances. The show is rarely, if ever, on my radar, unless a particular favorite performer is scheduled.....Both "Nurse Jackie" and "The Real Housewives of Orange County" had the week off, due to the holiday, and both return next Sunday. For the "Housewives," its the season finale.....In a few weeks time, favorite summer series like "True Blood" and "The Closer" will be returning. Until then, reality programming is about all there is. Bravo unveiled 2 new reality shows this week, "Platinum Hit," about songwriters, and "Million Dollar Decorators," about pretentious decorators who love spending other peoples money. Of the pair, "Platinum" has the most potential, but both have to kick up the excitement in the weeks ahead to make any sort of impact.
