AVIATION/ CAPE COD WELCOMES A PILOTS-N-PAWS FLIGHT
The Cape Cod town of Barnstable warmly welcomed a Pilots-N-Paws flight as it arrived at the Barnstable Municipal Airport on Tuesday. After a 12 hour flight from Louisiana with 3 stops for fuel, the Pilots and their 6 happy canine travelers were greeted by a welcoming committee from the Animal Rescue League of Boston’s Cape Cod branch. Animal Rescue Front takes animals out of high kill areas in the South and works with volunteer Pilots to transport them North, where the dogs have a better chance at life. The 6 dogs will temporarily reside at the Animal Rescue League shelter in Brewster while undergoing a health check and evaluation. As soon as that is completed, they will be up for adoption and then on their way to their "forever homes" on the Cape.

in this world it aint easy to find a hero but these pilots are my heros
ReplyDeleteWell said! I have read about this group before and they gladly give their time and money for these trips, with some making several trips per month. In the immediate aftermath of this Spring's tornadoes down South, the shelters were overflowing with animals of all kinds, and without groups like this, many animals would not have survived. My hat is off to them!
