AVIATION/ DHL AN26 CRASHES OFF LIBREVILLE
All 4 crew members onboard a DHL AVIATION Antonov AN26 survived, when the airliner went down today in the waters off Libreville, Gabon. The 4 crew members were all injured and have been hospitalized in Libreville. According to initial reports, the Antonov was on Cargo Service from Port Gentil to Libreville, when it went down off into the sea just off the shore, near Libreville Airport. Reports say the crew ditched the airliner due to an unspecifed technical problem. It came to rest submerged with the top of fuselage and the tail out of the water. Boats were on the scene within minutes of the crash, pictured above, and assisted with the rescue of the crew members from the water. The Antonov which went down, registration TR-LIE, was on lease from SOLENTA AVIATION GABON to DHL.
