The flight is the newest and longest for Qantas. It is 13,804 kilometres to be precise and has a scheduled flying time of 15 hours and 25 minutes. It's the 3rd longest flight across the world, only Newark to Singapore (15,327km) and Singapore to Los Angeles (14,09km) are longer. The 1st flight was welcomed into Dallas/Ft Worth with the traditional water cannon salute before the 747 taxied to the gate, both pictured above. Qantas flies the route 4x week, with the return stopping in Melbourne, Australia, for fuel due to headwinds.
