AVIATION/ PILOTS N PAWS HELPS ANIMALS IN NEED

A Pilots N Paws flight arrived last Wednesday afternoon in Bridgeport, Connecticut, with 28 dogs onboard, ready to start the next chapter in their lives. Pilots N Paws is an all volunteer program where Pilots donate their aircraft, fuel and time, to transfer shelter animals from one part of the country to another, in order for them to find a "forever home". They also transport animals for medical treatment. Earlier that day, the 28 dogs were loaded onto the private aircraft, pictured above, in Clarksville, Tennessee. The dogs came from various shelters and foster homes and over 1/2 of them had already been adopted by families in Connecticut. All preparations for the plane trips are also done by volunteers, including getting the carriers and supplies ready, and ensuring that the animals are as comfortable as possible for their flight. More information on Pilots N Paws can be found on their website.
