AVIATION/ HELISWISS CHOPPER CRASHES IN SWISS ALPS

6 people were injured yesterday after a HELISWISS B2 Ecureuil Helicopter crashed while carrying tourists to a high-altitude ski run in western Switzerland. The 5 tourists and Pilot all suffered minor to moderate injuries in the accident. The Chopper had departed Gstaad and then crashed on the Tsanfleuron glacier, also known as Glacier 3000, near the Les Diablerets ski resort, 30 miles SW of the capital Bern. Rescue workers were on the scene quickly, as well as numerous skiers came to the aid of the injured. Switzerland's Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigations (BFU) has launched an investigation.
