Sukhoi announced that it has conducted the maiden flight of AEROFLOT’s 1st Sukhoi Superjet 100 in the Russian flag-carrier’s colours. The Aircraft 95008 performed the 50 minute sortie on January 31 from Dzemgi Airport outside of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, where the aircraft are manufactured. The test Pilot said the aircraft did not suffer any major failure of its control and safety systems during the 2.5 year flight-test program, which led to Russian type certification last month. Sukhoi has 155 Superjet's on order with 1st deliveries planned shortly to ARMAVIA and Aeroflot.
