AVIATION/ MAJUBA PC12 CRASHES IN SOUTH AFRICA
All 9 people onboard a MAJUBA AVIATION Pilatus PC12 were killed yesterday, when the aircraft went down into the waters of Plettenberg Bay in South Africa. The wreckage and bodies were located this morning off Robberg Peninsula. The PC12 was on Non-Scheduled Domestic Service from Queenstown to Plettenberg Bay and carried 7 passengers and 2 Pilots onboard. According to media reports, the aircraft encountered dense fog at Plettenberg Bay Airport, which limited visibility to just 200m. For reasons not yet clear, the flight crew aborted its approach for landing and was performing a go-around, when it disappeared from radar screens around 4:00pm. The chief executive of South African tile company Italtile and 6 of his colleagues and business partners were killed. The Pilots were also employees of Italtile. Sputh African aviaiton officials have launched an investigation.
