WORLD NEWS/ HURRICANE OTTO DUMPING HEAVY RAINS

Tropical Storm Otto intensified over the last 24 hours and was upgraded to a Hurricane, the 8th Hurricane of the 2010 Atlantic season. Although Otto will be making no direct hit on land, the storm continues to bring heavy rains to Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the northern Lesser Antilles Islands, for the 4th day in a row. Severe flooding is reported through out the region. Flash flood warnings remain in effect for Puerto Rico today. Hurricane Otto is currently located about 445 miles S of Bermuda and is moving E/NE at 17mph. Winds are at 75mph, with gusts to 90mph. Continued strengthening is forecast thru tomorrow evening, at which time wind shear will increase and Otto will then begin to gradually weaken. The storm is forecast to stay on the E/NE path with an increase in forward motion over the next 24 hours.
