WORLD NEWS/ OTTO NEARS HURRICANE STRENGTH

SubTropical Storm Otto, formerly STD17, has transitioned into a full Tropical Storm in the Atlantic this morning and is forecast to become a Hurricane tomorrow. Otto's life as a Hurricane will be short lived as increasing wind shear tomorrow evening will begin to weaken the storm. Otto is not forecast to make a direct hit on any land mass, however the storm will bring contiue to bring heavy rains to the Leeward Islands, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico over the next 24 hours. TS Otto is currently located 255 miles NE of Grand Turk Island and is moving NE at 2mph. A steady motion to the NE along with an increase in forward motion is forecast to begin tonight. Winds are at 60mph, with gusts to 70mph. TS Otto should be well out to sea by this weekend and then become a concern only for the shipping lanes.
