AVIATION/ AVIONES TAXI CESSNA CRASHES IN MEXICO

All 8 passengers and crew onboard a AVIONES TAXI AIFE Cessna Citation were killed when the aircraft went down shortly after takeoff from rhe Canticas Airport in Minatitlan, Mexico, on Wednesday morning. The Citation departed Minatitlan shortly after 8:00am Wednesday morning with 6 passengers and 2 crew members onboard, for a flight to Veracruz, Mexico. Minutes after takeoff, the aircraft disappeared from radar and a search was launched. Around Noon yesterday, wreckage was spotted in the water and on the shore, in the coastal port Coatzacoalcos. According to officials, the parts found found include a fire extinguisher and shoes, but thus far, no bodies have been found. A sea search is continuing today. Officials in Mexico refused to speculate on what may have caused the crash, but they did say whatever did happen, it happened quickly after takeoff. One official said that mechanical failure would be one possible explanation, but cautioned they need to find the bulk of the wreckage, along with the bodies on those onboard.
