WORLD NEWS/ DEPRESSION FORMS IN CARIBBEAN

Tropical Depression 16, which formed early today in the Caribbean, is nearing Tropical Storm strength. Forecasters believe that TD16 will become Tropical Storm Nicole later today. The storm is currently located 160 miles S of Havana, Cuba, and 370 miles SSW of Miami, Florida, and is moving NNE at 10mph. TD16 has winds of 35mph, with gusts to 45mph. Tropical Storm Warnings have been issued for the Cayman Islands, sections of Cuba, Florida and The Bahamas. Heavy rains are forecast for the areas that are impacted by TD16. The storm should move past the Cayman Islands and Cuba later today and tonight and near South Florida tomorrow afternoon. By Thursday morning, the storm should be in the Atlantic Ocean, off the Coast of Georgia and could be approaching the Carolina Coast late in the week.
