FILM/ SPIRIT AWARD NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED


"500 Days of Summer," "Amreeka," "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire," "Sin Nombre" and "The Last Station" took the Spirit Award nominations for best feature. "The Last Station" and "Precious" scored the most nominations with 5 each while "The Messenger" took 4. Best director noms went to Joel and Ethan Coen for "A Serious Man," Lee Daniels for "Precious," Cary Joji Fukunaga for "Sin Nombre," James Gray for "Two Lovers" and Michael Hoffman for "The Last Station." Female lead nods went to Maria Bello for "Downloading Nancy," Nisreen Faour for "Amreeka," Helen Mirren for "The Last Station," Gwyneth Paltrow for "Two Lovers" and Gabourey Sidibe for "Precious." Male lead noms were received by Jeff Bridges for "Crazy Heart," Colin Firth for "A Single Man," Joseph Gordon-Levitt for "500 Days of Summer," Souleymane Sy Savane for "Goodbye Solo" and Adam Scott for "The Vicious Kind." Among those nominated for supporting females was Mo'Nique for "Precious". "A Serious Man" was announced as winner of the Robert Altman Award, given to a director, casting director and ensamble cast. The noms were announced this morning by Matt Dillon and Taraji Henson. The awards show will be held March 5, 2 days before the Oscars.
