THEATRE/ "ALTAR BOYZ" TO SHUTTER: The long-running Off-Broadway musical comedy "Altar Boyz" will end its run at New World Stages in January 2010. When it closes, the production will have played 2,032 performances, one of the longest off-Broadway runs in history. The show opened on March 1, 2005. A 2005 Outer Critics Circle winner, "Altar Boyz" is directed by Stafford Arima with choreography by Christopher Gattelli. "Altar Boyz" has gone on to enjoy several national tours, as well as numerous regional and international mountings. The musical recouped its investment in early 2008.
