TV/ "X FACTOR" HOSTS NAMED: Steve Jones and Nicole Scherzinger have been picked to be the hosts of Simon Cowell’s US version of "The X Factor," according to reports today from Hollywood. A formal announcement is expected shortly. Jones and  Scherzinger will join the highly-anticipated singing competition on Sunday, when its judges rounds kick off in Los Angeles. The show will bow in September on Fox. Jones, 34, is unknown to audiences in the US, but in UK he has hosted many popular shows, including "T4 Music" and "As Seen on TV". Scherzinger, 32, is a solo singer and former member of the girl group the Pussycat Dolls. She also appeared on the UK version of "X Factor". The hosts join previously announced judges Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Antonio “L.A” Reid. Paula Abdul is still in talks to join the show as the 4th judge.

FILM/ "WILLIAM TELL" IN 3D TAKING SHAPE: Brendan Fraser is in negotiations to star in what is being called "William Tell: 3D," with Nick Hurran, who directed the recent remake of TV's "The Prisoner," attached to helm. Anna Paquin is also in negotiations to play Tell's wife, with German star Til Schweiger playing Habsburg king Hermann Gessler. The Tell legend involves an archer who is forced to shoot an apple on the top of his son's head after not wanting to bow in front of the king's statue. When the monarch inquires why Tell had 2 arrows in his quiver, the archer replied the other arrow was for the king in case he missed the apple. The ensuing events led to an uprising, eventually causing the formation of state of Switzerland. Scott Reynolds wrote the script. The producers are hoping to shoot this fall in Romania and Switzerland.
